The Museum of Art Fakes, almost directly opposite the Hundertwasserhaus, is unique in Europe. This “criminal” art museum is filled with faked paintings from not only world famous forgers such as Han van Meegeren, Eric Hebborn, Tom Keating, Elmyr de Hory, David Stein, Konrad Kujau, Edgar Mrugalla, Lothar Malskat, Tony Treto, but also called ‘identical-fakes’ of Schiele, Klimt, Rembrandt, Matisse, Chagall and more..... In addition, there are many interesting mystery stories about the forgeries and their forgers. For example, one english master forger hid ‘time-bombs’ in his paintings. Eric Hebborn found eternal peace in a very, very suspicious way, Han van Meegeren having also cheated Hermann Göring in the 2nd World War into buying a fake Vermeer painting, a fake turkey changed the history, it exist false fake paintings and so much more .....
